About Willow Farm Subdivision

History

The Willow Farm Subdivision was built in 1977 by Erb Lumber Co., seeking to develop the area that was formerly a horse farm. It is located at the corner of Willow Rd. and Lochaven Rd. in West Bloomfield. The subdivision houses 79 home lots, three parks, one water retention basin, walking trails and access to the wetlands. The original farm house still exists but is not part of the subdivision.

Willow Farm Subdivision Association, not to be confused with the Willow Farms Subdivision Association, was originally created in 1978 for the purpose of maintenance, preservation and architectural control of the resident's lots in the common areas of the Willow Farm Subdivision. Specifically, Willow Farm Subdivision Association provided for maintenance and improvement of Bennett Park, Lakewood Park and Locklin Park, as well as approval, supervision, and control of the building and use restrictions involving discretionary decisions for the Willow Farm Subdivision. The Willow Farm Subdivision Association served in this role until October of 2000, when the corporation dissolved.
